It’s March! That means goodbye No-Spend February and hello Minimalism in March! This month marks the fourth year a Life on a Dime has hosted this challenge. I’ve already gotten a head start on decluttering both at home and at work! This post serves as an outline of what to expect for this year’s Minimalism in March challenge.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love minimalism and the freedom it gives me both with the physical space to move about my environment with less clutter and the mental and emotional space it clears. It’s also pretty good for your wallet!
2023 MINIMALISM IN MARCH GOALS
This year for Minimalism in March, I have three simple objectives:
- Declutter
- Organize
- Clean
This will be accomplished through weekly goals and will include both my house and my vehicle. Be on the lookout for decluttering assignments, progress updates from me, and other tidbits about minimalism.
YOUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT
It is Thursday evening as I write this. By Sunday evening I plan to have the kitchen decluttered, organized, and cleaned. You can join me and get this knocked off your to do list as well! Before the weekend is out we will:
- Declutter the kitchen cabinets and throw out any expired goods, making sure to donate or sell unwanted items that are still in good shape and discard or recycle items that aren’t. Don’t donate any items that will have to be trashed by the thrift store. If you plan to sell unwanted items that have some monetary value and are in good condition make sure you list them BEFORE the weekend is up as well.
- Make sure everything that stays is in its place and that place is one that makes the most sense to you and the layout of your kitchen.
- This one is pretty straight forward, even if it isn’t my favorite. Clean out the cabinets, vacuuming any dust, food, or spice on the shelves. Wipe down the fridge inside and out, the cabinet doors, and counter tops while you’re at it. Then my least favorite; clean the dishwasher filter.
