It’s the second week of Minimalism in March, which means we’re moving on to a new declutter challenge for the week! This week, we’re tackling the kitchen and bathrooms.

week two challenge: kitchen
This is the chore I typically need to tackle most and enjoy the least; this week we will clean and declutter the kitchen. The task list consists of the following:
- Declutter & wipe down countertops
- Wipe down cabinet door & drawer faces
- Declutter food storage areas & vacuum inside cabinets where needed
- Inventory pantry items for meal planning purposes, throw out expired items
- Inspect any food storage containers for proper closure & cleanliness, discard or donate as needed
- Vacuum out lower cabinets as needed
- Clean out the fridge and remove any expired products
- Clean out the microwave
- Clean the floors
- Make note of items needed
minimalism in March week two: bathrooms
It’s been a while since I’ve been through every cabinet, drawer, and shelf; probably about a year. This week I plan to tackle the following:
- Clean mirrors, shower, toilets, countertops, and sinks
- Reorganize towels and washcloths
- Go through all the random things under the sinks
- Go through the drawers – empty, wipe down, and organize
- Reorganize linen closet shelf by shelf
As in the kitchen, I will be making note of anything needed. I don’t anticipate much of a shopping list for either room.
That’s it for week two! What are you waiting for? Time to get your declutter on and tackle spring cleaning at the same time! I’ll see you next week for the next Minimalism in March challenge.
