THREE GREAT LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS THAT DON’T REQUIRE A BOX

Christmas is now a week away. Are you done with your shopping? Chances are pretty slim at this point that the perfect gift is going to be on the store shelves or guaranteed to arrive in time (even if you break the budget on shipping). Here are three great last-minute gift ideas that don’t require a box. Now that’s something any minimalist will love!

GREAT LAST-MINUTE GIFT IDEAS FOR THE READER IN YOUR LIFE

Know someone who just can’t get their hands on enough books to read or listen to? Maybe you are that someone (I know I am). Gift them a subscription to either Kindle Unlimited or Audible and make the bookworm in your life very happy.

Not only does this gift not only take up any space, but you can also be sure they’ll get exactly what they want out of it because they get to choose the books themselves. And they can do so without visiting the store every time they want to pick a new one.

As an avid reader, I highly recommend this one. I currently rely on checking out ebooks from my local library to feed my reading habit, and nothing is more annoying than waiting weeks on end for a popular book on hold. The selection is also far smaller than what a subscription through Amazon can provide.

And, if your gift recipient doesn’t have a kindle device the app can be downloaded free onto the device of their choice, no worries there!

GIVE THE GIFT OF AN EXPERIENCE

This is always a top recommendation from this minimalist, and one I frequently request for our kids from grandparents. For example, this Christmas our family was gifted an annual membership to the Amazeum, a local children’s museum. This is amazing both since our kids are at the perfect ages to enjoy this experience, but it’s also a bit outside our single income family budget to visit often.

Know a couple with kids who could use a date night? Buy a gift card to their favorite restaurant and offer to babysit. It’s guaranteed to be one of their favorite gifts.

UNIQUE, ETHICALLY CONSCIOUS LAST-MINUTE GIFT IDEA

This one technically comes in a box, but you don’t have to wrap it! GlobeIn offers a monthly gift box subscription service that empowers artisans across the world. Give the gift of unique, handcrafted home decor, kitchenware, jewelry and more with this customizable service.

My number one gripe with subscription boxes is that typically you don’t really get to pick what they send, which can be both disappointing and a waste of product and cash. Not to mention they aren’t all necessarily ethically conscious with their choices.

What I really like about GlobeIn is you can pick out individual, beautiful handmade gifts for single occasions, but you can also purchase three and six-month subscriptions. Purchasing a membership also saves you money; there’s member exclusive pricing as well as 50% off your first box on any three-month premium membership.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the prices when I researched the company. There are definitely a few people I know who would love some of their planters and baskets.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET THOSE LAST-MINUTE GIFTS TAKEN CARE OF AND RELAX

A few clicks and you could be done with your shopping and ready to move on to the more fun parts of Christmas. Bake those gingerbread men, build the whole house if you’re feeling ambitious. Enjoy some hot chocolate, apple cider, or eggnog (not my personal fave, but you do you) and spend some time with your loved ones instead of stressing out about what to buy for them.

Sharing is caring!

These are really good! We’ve gone for quite a few vouchers this year for our loved ones for afternoon teas and other shows and it’s worked so well!

  2. Great ideas, all year round! I’m all about giving experiences as gifts. Makes so many more memories than things.
