SIMPLE STOCKING STUFFERS YOUR FAMILY WILL LOVE

Chances are you’re finishing up Christmas shopping. If you’re lucky you’re already done. For those of us who aren’t so lucky or short on ideas, here’s a Life on a Dime’s 2022 list of simple stocking stuffers.

I will be honest and say this is the first time in five years we’ve had actual stockings and I was excited to plan stocking stuffers for once since they’re not just getting wrapped individually and thrown into a larger gift bag for a change. But we still kept it simple. There’s no need to break the bank on stocking stuffers. Or Christmas gifts at all, cuz we’re on a budget right?

And with just two weeks til Christmas, you’ll want to get through your list ASAP so you can enjoy some merry and bright without the stress of last-minute shopping.

SIMPLE STOCKING STUFFERS FOR THE KIDS

Scrunchies and Other Hair Accessories – We have a 10-year-old and she can’t seem to get enough scrunchies or clips. We’re big fans of the coil-style ponytail holders (think old phone cord); they’re gentle on the hair, and double as comfortable bracelets. Barrettes also come in handy to keep hair out of the face and come in every color and pattern imaginable.

Small Puzzles – There are so many puzzles packaged small enough to fit in a stocking. And with Christmas break coming up screen-free entertainment is a must at our house.

Hot Wheels or Matchbox Cars – What kid doesn’t like playing with tiny cars? They’re a no-brainer when it comes to stocking stuffers. Not only are they the perfect size, but there are no batteries required! Make sure to buy the metal models and they’ll last for years.

STOCKING STUFFERS FOR HER

Skincare – Make her feel pampered with a pretty jade roller gift set, facial brightening oil, or homemade bath salts infused with essential oils.

A Piece of Jewelry – Think less about diamonds and more about sterling silver. Some cute drop earrings or this pretty initial necklace make lovely stocking stuffers. Not only are they beautiful in their simplicity, but they’re also under $20 each!

Slippers or Socks – You can spend as little or as much as you want on a good pair of slippers. Choices range from simple ballerina slippers to 100% wool Uggs. I love a good pair of Smartwool socks. As long as the result is toasty toes, I’m sure she’ll be happy.

STOCKING STUFFERS FOR HIM

A Cool Keyring – This practical gift is also customizable; from picture keyrings to those with a simple leather strap, you’re sure to find one he’ll love to use.

Some Manly Soap – Men’s skincare has come a long way in recent years. The choice of more natural, high quality soaps in scents you’ll love on him has definitely expanded.

You’re no longer stuck with old men’s brands and heavily scented body washes. Among the plethora of options, there is Dr Squatch and Duke Cannon.

If your man is super into Marvel or Star Wars there’s sure to be a soap for him as well. Niche soaps have really become a thing. Ever wonder what Batman smelled like? Dark leather apparently.

A Good Razor or Beard Oil– Give the gift of a good grooming routine with a quality stainless steel safety razor. Or, if he wants to get even more environmentally friendly with his facial hair, some high-quality all-natural beard oil like Shutran.

GREAT IDEAS FOR EVERYONE

Card Games – Bring on the nostalgia and pick up a deck of cards like Uno or Phase 10. We love introducing our old favorites to the kids. With all the options, you can just about add a deck a year and never run low on choice.

Gloves and Scarves – Warm hands are always appreciated, and these essentials tend to get lost throughout the season. Make sure everybody stays warm by adding a pair of gloves and a matching scarf in their stocking. Bonus points if you crochet or knit them yourself.

Batteries – Chances are at least one gift under the tree requires batteries, so why not throw a pack or two in the stockings?

Gift Cards – Who doesn’t love a $10 treat?! You can get a gift card for just about anything now, so include one from a favorite coffee shop, bakery, or ice cream place, and give the gift of a sweet treat to be used at their convenience.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GET THOSE STOCKINGS STUFFED ALREADY!

Christmas is now just about two weeks away. Get your shopping out of the way so you can focus on the true reason for the season without the added stress of last-minute holiday shopping. Stay frugal and healthy my friends. I’ll see you in the next post!

  1. Great suggestions. We love a hot wheels car in our house and I’ve actually bought some useful coin keyrings for the shopping trolleys. Such a useful item for people.
