I know I’m late in posting this, but I was also a little late getting started on my Christmas shopping list this year. More on that later; here is a Life on a Dime’s 2025 Christmas Gift Guide. Minimalist Edition of course.

2025 christmas gift guide:FOR THE KIDS
We have a twelve-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son, so these gift ideas will be in the big kid/tween range. A lot of these gift items are also practical, because when you’re working with a small budget, that’s just how it goes sometimes.
Sleepwear – Who doesn’t remember getting a new set of pajamas every year at Christmas? This year just our daughter is getting the customary pajamas; our son is getting a new robe since he’s outgrown his.
Something Girly, & Practical – Our daughter’s ever-growing jewelry collection has long since run out of room. The boxes and piles of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets seem to multiply by the week. So she’s getting this wood jewelry box with upright necklace storage, earring slots, and drawers. Hopefully, this will give her a little room to grow her collection as well. If not, well it may be time for another round of decluttering soon anyway!
We will also let her pick out a new rug and other decor for her bedroom since she’s getting a bit older. It’s also hard to go wrong with fairy lights.
Something Fun & Something to Capture Memories – Our son loves foosball; if he sees a table somewhere, you know you’re not leaving anytime soon if he has anything to say about it. We don’t have a lot of space at our house, so he’s getting this tabletop foosball set as well as some spare balls in his stocking.
He also recently asked for a camera so he can share our fishing and camping trip adventures with his school friends. I was able to find some options that use rolls of photo paper rather for instant black and white prints, and have an SD card for digital storage/color prints.
Santa is bringing the whole family rechargeable walkie-talkies; this is something the husband and kids have talked about all year for our camping trips, and we haven’t gotten around to getting yet.
FOR HIM
If you have a handyman in your life, why not look into a cordless electric chainsaw? There are options for just about every budget. While you’re at it, check out this 100% cotton (not plastic!) flannel work shirt.
Help him protect his identity and keep his wallet organized with this RFID wallet. It’s stylish, compact, and he’ll be hard-pressed to fill it with every receipt ever.
For the well-groomed guy, how about a solid cologne set (with natural ingredients) or a beard trimmer?
2025 CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE: FOR HER
It’s hard to go wrong with a 100% cotton pajama set. Throw in some clean beauty products for an at-home spa experience. Or opt for the experience gift, and send her for a mani/pedi or massage at her favorite salon. Bonus points if you can find a local soap/scent maker and gift her with some custom, naturally scented soaps and such to pamper her with.
Keep her warm and connected with a tasteful pair of thermal knit gloves; the fingertips are touchscreen friendly, so she won’t have to choose between warm hands and sending that text.

You may have noticed that the lack of tech on this list; it was intentional. Chances are you won’t need to buy them very often. You can find a Kindle for almost every price range, or for library users, get a Kobo! I love my Libra Colour, and it has Google Drive and Overdrive built right in.
This allows you to connect to your local library and read a wide selection of ebooks FREE, and download ebooks of various formats. Simply save them to your Kobo folder on the drive and they’ll be accessible on the device.
