Ever wonder if you need a budget coach? Or just curious about what one is and how they can help? In this post, I’m sharing three signs you may need a Budget Coach. I’ll also explain how I can help you achieve budgeting success!
So what are these three signs you ask? I’ll tell you!
YOU MAY NEED A BUDGET COACH IF WANT TO GET ON A BUDGET BUT DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START
One sign you may need a Budget Coach’s services is that you have absolutely how to get started. Where do you even begin?
You may have watched videos explaining how to get a budget started. You might have even read a blog post or two, but just feel lost in the sea of information. Don’t fret! That’s where I come in!
I have over 10 years of household budgeting under my belt and I know I can help you get yours set up. And I’ll stick with you as little or as long as you need me!
Together, we can get you started on a budget and make sure it’s going to work for you. Sometimes you just need a helping hand to get you going in the right direction. That’s one way a Budget Coach can help.

YOU’VE TRIED STICKING TO A BUDGET BEFORE, BUT FAILED WITHOUT AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER
It can be really hard to stick to a budget for many reasons; those reasons include not setting a realistic budget to begin with and a lack of support from those around you.
After all, it’s awfully hard to stick to a budget that doesn’t allow for any fun at all and friends who don’t see why you bothered setting a budget, to begin with.
Especially when they think that budgets aren’t any fun so you’re obviously not any fun if you’re on one. Talk about raining on your parade.
Then there’s the self discipline aspect of being on a budget. You can have a great budget and a great plan, but it does no good if you don’t stick with it.
This is where a Budget Coach can come alongside you, help make sure your budget is realistic for you, and act as an accountability partner throughout the month.
As your Budget Coach, I can also help you adjust your budget as time goes by to adapt to your changing needs. This can prevent your budgeting success from getting derailed by a bump in salary (hello lifestyle creep!) or a bump in the road (unexpected bills, etc).
YOU’RE ON A BUDGET, BUT YOU’RE NOT MAKING AS MUCH PROGRESS AS YOU THINK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO
Maybe you’ve set a budget and you’re even keeping your spending in budget, but don’t feel like you’re making any headway on debt payoff or savings goals.
As your Budget Coach, I can audit your existing budget and help you find areas to cut back or adjust to help you achieve those goals faster. It may just mean that you need a major reality check and some motivation to get down to business.
Sometimes a different set of eyes can make all the difference. In this case an audit might be all you need. Or you may decide to continue on for a full month to make sure you can realistically stick with the changes.

I’ve been trying to learn to budget for months but I really seem to struggle with self disapline and going over my budget in a big way.
Maybe you just need to be a little more lenient with certain spending categories for a bit so you don’t get too discouraged. Self-discipline is not accomplished overnight!
I hadn’t heard of a budget coach before, but I’d imagine a few people might be in need of your services due to the lockdown
I have always been good with money, but so many people around me are not. I try to help them out, but I think working with someone you don’t know personally is a lot easier for most people.
Such a lovely idea! I have tried several times in the past to keep to a budget but it’s only ever lasted a few weeks. I’m definitely not awful with money and I think my spending probably balances out (some months I spend loads and some I spend nothing) but I definitely think I need to learn how to budget better. Will be looking I to this idea more! Thanks for the advice.
Finding a balance is definitely worth it!
This was very interesting. Personally I’ve always been really good with money but I can see how it might be useful for people who want to get their budget on track.
This sounds a fab idea! I used to have real problems sticking to, or even creating a budget. My wages were spent before I even go them in my account. Last year something started to shift and I was getting fed up living a life of having stuff everywhere. Since then I have been carefully considering everything I buy and have eliminated much of the clutter. It feels so good! x
